Gopinath Akalkotkar Joins Marmon Mok Architecture as Principal

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Marmon Mok Architecture is thrilled to announce the hiring of Gopinath Akalkotkar, AIA, LEED AP, as a Principal in our San Antonio office. Gopinath brings over 30 years of architectural expertise, leadership, and a passion for innovative design and placemaking, further strengthening Marmon Mok’s commitment to excellence in the built environment. 

With a distinguished global portfolio in healthcare, civic, educational, and commercial projects, Gopinath has consistently demonstrated a visionary approach to designing and creating functional and inspiring spaces. His leadership in the architecture field is underscored by his dedication to client collaboration, sustainable design solutions, and fostering a culture of creativity within his teams. As an urban designer, he is a staunch advocate of a walkable San Antonio.

His leadership will be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives and delivering high-quality design solutions that align with the firm’s mission, thereby contributing significantly to the firm’s growth trajectory.

Gopinath is a licensed architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Architecture from CEPT University. He has previously served as the City Architect for San Antonio and is very involved in community and professional service through various organizations.
