Best Places to Work 2011

Marmon Mok was selected as one of the “Best Places to Work” by the San Antonio Business Journal for the fifth consecutive year. The recognition is based upon the Journal’s annual survey reflecting firm leadership, benefits, professional development, workplace and employee attitude.

Marmon Mok Named a Texas Treasure

Marmon Mok was presented a Texas Treasure Business Award by state Sen. Leticia Van de Putte on January 4th, 2011. The Texas Treasure Business Award was created by the 79th Legislature to honor businesses for exceptional historical contributions toward the economic growth and prosperity of Texas. Marmon Mok is the first architectural firm to receive this award, which is given to companies more than 50 years old. 1.4.2011

Lila Cockrell Theatre Reopens

Featured on the front page of the San Antonio Express-News on November 11th, the construction for the Lila Cockrell Theatre renovation was completed under budget and on time for the Rick Springfield concert. Marmon Mok designed the $20 million renovation for the theatre that was originally built for the 1968 HemisFair and had not had any improvements since that time. 11.11.10

William J. Brennan High School Dedication

Northside ISD’s William J. Brennan High School was completed on time and budget for the beginning of the 2010 school year. During the dedication ceremonies, Bill Reeves and Monty Howard presented a framed rendering of the new 450,000 SF high school to the Brennan family in honor of the deceased Supreme Court Justice. 11.10.10

Marmon Mok: One of Texas' Top 25 Green Design Firms

Marmon Mok was included in Texas Construction magazine’s first-ever Top 25 Green Design Firms list in the November issue. The list ranks the top 25 Texas design firms based on the amount of revenue each company reported earning from its green-building sector. In addition, Marmon Mok was one of six firms profiled for the section. 11.1.10

Marmon Mok Wins SABJ's Going Green Award

The San Antonio Business Journal selected Marmon Mok for the 2010 Architecture Firm award in the annual Going Green Awards Program. Marmon Mok’s Director of Sustainable Design, Edgar Farrera, AIA, LEED AP, accepted the award on the firm’s behalf during the September awards luncheon. 9.13.10

Trinity University Residence Hall Certified LEED Gold

Marmon Mok designed the renovation of Miller Residence Hall, home to first-year students at Trinity University, earning LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Miller is the first building at any San Antonio institution of higher education to achieve any level of LEED certification and only the fifth Gold certified structure in San Antonio. 11.10.10
