Marmon Mok has found full-scale mockups to be a powerful tool in our healthcare projects to validate the functionality of the space, confirm aesthetic design decisions, and achieve both owner and user buy-in during the design process.

Greg Houston Honored with Texas A&M Outstanding Alumni Award

 

Greg Houston was recently recognized with Texas A&M College of Architecture Outstanding Alumni Award during a February banquet honoring 2020 and 2021 winners. This award is given for outstanding professional achievements in the practice of architecture, mentorship, and community leadership. Greg has always been a champion of all things Aggie, starting with supporting the next generation with his three children. He takes pride in the work that he has completed for the University as well as being an active part of the Association of Former Students. Tiffany Long Promoted to Partner & Recipient of the SABJ's 40 Under 40 Award

The partners at Marmon Mok were excited to announce the promotion of Tiffany to Partner. Tiffany has focused her career on healthcare design, and currently serves as Marmon Mok’s Design Team Project Manager for the 700,000 SF University Health System’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital, one of the largest healthcare building programs in Texas. Just a few short weeks later, Tiffany was the recipient of San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award. Texas Federation for Advanced Manufacturing (FAME) / Bexar County Workforce Training Center

 

This facility is the result of three years of planning and several workforce initiatives to help advanced manufacturing industry partners solve critical skill gaps. The Workforce Training Center, operated by Texas FAME will provide scarce skills training. The center will encompass approximately 30,000 SF and is intended to be highly flexible to adapt to the evolving needs of workforce training, and will include classroom and hands-on instruction.

  • In October, Tiffany Long teamed up with Jhiah Chang of ZGF and Sam O’Connor of JE Dunn Construction to discuss how we’re working toward improved women and children’s health and hospital facilities design at Texas A&M’s Fall 2019 Architecture-for-Health Visiting Lecture Series.
  • In October, Mary Bartlett spoke at the 2019 National Association of State Facility Administrators Conference in Hartford, CT about how the new TxDOT Stassney Campus will be a government workplace of the future.
  • In September, Mary Bartlett spoke with her fellow panelists on “Leaders of the Future: How to Identify, Nurture, & Retain Them” at the CMAA 2019 National Conference & Trade Show in Orlando, FL.
  • In September, Greg Houston gave the keynote for THSADA on the Northside ISD Gymnasium and what athletic directors can expect when undertaking a new athletic facility.
