The WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP) credential denotes expertise in the WELL Building Standard and a commitment to advancing human health and wellness in buildings and communities around the world. As we transition back to the office, Marmon Mok takes priority in our employees health and wellness and we are committed to ensuring our employees thrive in the space they work.
When our partners aren’t architect-ing, they’re archi-talking, and this fall has been busy for conferences and speaking engagements.
Continuing education is essential for our architects to remain some of the best in the business. We’re proud to announce Cindy De Hoyos, Senior Associate and member of our Healthcare team, has achieved her Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification or EDAC. This exam’s five sections test evidence-based design in healthcare, the research process, the pre-design process, construction, and occupancy. Congratulations Cindy!
Marmon Mok hosted a retirement party at Club Giraud where we honored Partner Stephen Souter, FAIA, who on May 1st celebrates 50 years at Marmon Mok. He has left a lasting impression on the clients, teaming partners, and employees he has worked with over the past five decades, and the respect and admiration we all have for him filled the air. Numerous long-time friends and colleagues traveled from across the country to be here for this momentous celebration. Steve will be missed greatly, but his legacy as an architect and community leader will live on. He will spend his free days with his beautiful wife Jill traveling the globe and visiting friends and family across the country. CONGRATULATIONS STEVE!
For 48 years, Steve has been an active and essential part of the architecture community. He has upheld a professionalism and integrity that is second to none in the profession of architecture. Steve’s contributions to Marmon Mok are innumerable and he continues to work with a passion and dedication that is rare to find in any practice. Anyone who has had the pleasure to know him and work with him is a better person because of it and the practice of architecture would not be the same without Steve Souter. Congratulations Steve, we cannot think of someone more deserving of AIA San Antonio’s Legacy Award.
As Interior Architect, Marmon Mok designed the interior finish out for 15 floors of the new Frost Tower to be occupied by Frost Bank. All floors contain curated art collections and custom furniture made from live oaks that were harvested from the property. A contemporary design aesthetic is applied throughout each floor, with a focus on integration of modern technology and full utilization of the abundant natural light. Last week we had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate with our client at their official opening; thank you for letting us be part of your history!
Marmon Mok is deeply honored to be named in the San Antonio Express News Top Workplaces for 2019. A special thank you to each member of the Marmon Mok family; it is your passion and unwavering commitment to outstanding work that makes us better every day. Congratulations team!
