SAISD was looking to update the campus and expand capacity with a new addition while preserving the original 1915 historic school building and retaining the features of the existing site. Marmon Mok designed a site-efficient building addition which honored the character of the original historic campus, expanded operations by providing more opportunities for after-hours indoor and outdoor community spaces and improved the campus’s energy efficiency.
