The Edington Complex, one of Schreiner University’s oldest and most storied facilities, has been transformed into a modern Sports Performance Center. For decades, this building played a vital role in the university’s athletic landscape, hosting everything from major sports events to intramural activities. Its renovation and expansion have reshaped it into a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the demands of contemporary collegiate athletics.
The project was driven by the launch of Schreiner University’s new football program in the fall of 2025. Recognizing the need for a suitable training location, the university’s Board of Trustees and leadership identified the Edington Complex as the ideal site for a comprehensive upgrade.
The transformation included a 7,400-square-foot addition dedicated to strength and conditioning, featuring modern equipment and offices for the training staff. A 5,100-square-foot renovation created a cohesive and functional space for the football team, including a new physical therapy and training room, high-density equipment storage, laundry facilities, and a 3,000-square-foot locker room with 120 lockers that can be subdivided into two smaller rooms for sport rotation.
Beyond supporting Schreiner’s growing athletic ambitions, the project reinforces the university’s commitment to community. The revitalized facility continues to serve the entire student body with a renovated gymnasium for intramural activities, ensuring that the Edington Complex remains a vibrant center for recreation, sportsmanship, and campus life.
