We seek talented individuals for both our Austin and San Antonio locations. The preferred candidate(s) will have demonstrated architectural experience and be passionate about elevating people and communities through the thoughtful, beautiful, and impactful design of buildings!

Description:

Architect, full-time, with 5-10 years of experience, or more, preferred. This role is primarily in-office, with a limited ability to work from home per company policy. This position requires: a strong understanding of building systems and delivery methods, ability to work in a team environment with consultants and maintain client communications and expectations, taking responsibility for the complete integration of design and technical aspects of a project. Architectural registration required; LEED AP preferred. Experience with municipal/civic, commercial, and/or healthcare projects strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Organize, lead, and/or assist in all phases of building design, from programming through close-out.

Prepare drawings for schematic design, design development, and contract documents.

Emphasis will be on the knowledge of building code and systems and ability to develop documents in Revit for the preparation of documents, including pricing and bidding packages, client presentations, and construction documents.

Communication with other Marmon Mok team members including specification writers to identify appropriate building systems and incorporate the requirements in the technical documentation.

Assist with or have direct responsibility for reviewing and translating client design criteria, standards and project requirements from document preparation through installation.

Be responsible for the complete integration of design and technical aspects of the project.

Apply knowledge and experience in services during Bidding and Construction Administration.

Requirements:

  • Architectural registration
  • 5-10 years of experience, or more
  • Experience with commercial and/or civic projects
  • Experience with steel and concrete framed mid-rise structures.
  • Revit proficiency
  • Knowledge of project design process, programming, construction documentation, codes, and administration
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized, professional, proactive, understands sense of urgency
  • Collaborative and professional team leader
  • Design and detail oriented
  • Teams/Bluebeam familiarity, experienced with collaboration tools
  • InDesign, Word, Excel, SketchUp familiarity

Additional Skills (Preferred, not required):

  • LEED AP a plus
  • Experience with permitting in the City of Austin a plus
  • Familiarity with energy-modeling tools a plus
