Southwest ISD Natatorium Pool

Cool Off at The Southwest ISD Natatorium

The Southwest ISD Natatorium is a state-of-the-art facility with a 50-meter competition pool, diving well, and seating for up to 800 spectators. The design of the natatorium is unique and modern, with a striking angular roofline that extends over the entire building. The new facility is home to many events throughout the year, including swimming meets, water polo matches, and diving competitions. This summer, the natatorium will host fun activities for the public, such as aqua fitness, yoga, and swimming lessons (6yr-12yr). See the full list of activities and schedule here.

Round Rock Sports Center

This state-of-the-art facility features six basketball courts, 12 volleyball courts, and a 30,000-square-foot indoor soccer field. The sports center’s design accommodates a variety of sporting events, from youth tournaments to professional-level games. This summer, the center will host a plethora of sporting events. They also offer comprehensive party packages for birthdays and special occasions. Apart from its sporting functions, the Round Rock Sports Center is also a preferred venue for trade shows, concerts, and various community events held throughout the year.

Tobin Center for The Performing Arts

Catch a Show at Tobin Center for The Performing Arts 

Marmon Mok, in association with LMN Architects, provided architectural services for the transformation of the historic 1920s-era Municipal Auditorium into a “world-class” performing arts center. The design retains historic elements, public entrance, and primary circulation of this historic landmark while completely replacing the interior auditorium structure with a state-of-the-art performance hall. The design accommodates a variety of performances, including theater, dance, music, and comedy.

This summer, the Tobin Center for The Performing Arts will host several performances, including Freedom: A Gospel Celebration of Juneteenth, Madagascar the Musical, and An Evening with George Takei. These performances will offer visitors a chance to experience some of the best live entertainment in the city. They also provide Wellness at The Tobin Events located in the Will Naylor Smith River Walk Plaza. Visitors can sign up for a variety of classes that include Zumba, meditation, yoga, and salsa dancing. While the other Marmon Mok projects on this list are designed for sports and entertainment, the Parman Library is a testament to the firm’s versatility. This stunning library is in the Stone Oak neighborhood of San Antonio, and it features a variety of unique design elements, from the curved walls to the floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the surrounding area. The library also has a variety of events and programs for people of all ages, including story times for young children, book clubs, and technology classes for seniors. This summer, the library will host art programs, wellness in the park, and a series of other family-friendly events. The Mays Family YMCA at Potranco is another impressive Marmon Mok project that is worth a visit this summer. This award-winning project features a variety of fitness equipment, a heated indoor pool, a variety of group exercise classes, and even a San Antonio Public Library. The design of the YMCA Potranco is both modern and inviting, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light and a variety of unique design elements throughout the building. In addition to fitness classes and activities, YMCA Potranco also hosts a variety of community events throughout the year, including festivals, health fairs, and other family-friendly activities.
