In association with Populous, Marmon Mok is designing the University of Texas at San Antonio’s new home for the Track & Field and Soccer teams. The state-of-the-art facility will feature three separate team locker rooms, a large training room with hydro-therapy, a visiting team locker room, official’s lockers, and a team meeting room. Taking into consideration the San Antonio community at large, the Park West Complex will additionally serve local sports clubs, be a venue for hosting clinics, and support visiting teams throughout the year.
The Park West Complex is a one-story athletic training facility of approximately 15,000 GSF. It will be located adjacent to an existing toilet/ concessions/ticket building on the South side of the Soccer Stadium. The building site will include a new walkway connection from the circular drive, creating a small plaza area. One of the focal points of the building will be the main entrance located on the South façade of the building. It will function as the day-to-day entrance for student-athletes, staff, and coaches. The lobby space will also function as an access to a dual function circulation space and Hall of Fame with sponsorship integration opportunities, trophy display areas, and UTSA Athletics branded graphics. This space will also highlight UTSA student-athlete achievements throughout history.
