Green Building Award

The City of San Antonio honored Marmon Mok with a 2009 Green Building Award, an honorable mention in the commercial project category for its design of the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center. The awards honor commercial builders, residential builders, remodelers, architects and designers and other organizations for advancing green building through innovative design and construction techniques, excellent educational programs and successful advocacy efforts. 6.3.2009

The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts

The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts has chosen the team of Seattle-based LMN Architects and Marmon Mok to redesign the Municipal Auditorium into San Antonio’s premiere performing arts center. The new performing arts center will celebrate the unique character of an historic property while offering state-of-the-art theater design. With an expected unveiling in September of 2013, the Center will feature exceptional sound, acoustics and seating arrangements, becoming the finest performance facility in the San Antonio area. 6.3.2009

Bill Reeves, TSA President

In January Bill Reeves began his term as President of the Texas Society of Architects. In this role he will be the advocate-in-chief for the architecture profession in Texas, especially during the 2009 legislative session. 3.4.2009

TSA Architecture Firm Award 2008

Marmon Mok was recently awarded the Architecture Firm Award for 2008 by the Texas Society of Architects (TSA). The award is the highest honor bestowed on an architecture firm by the TSA, and it recognizes the company’s accomplishments and service throughout its 55-year history. 2008

Marmon Mok Wins Pinnacle Award 2007

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Texas/Oklahoma Chapter honored Marmon Mok with its prestigious Pinnacle Award at the Chapter Gala in Dallas. Winning in the medium-sized firm category, the award is granted to firms with consistent service to the community, to the profession and IIDA. 2007

Green Building and LEED Projects

Green building design and LEED certification was the focus for this year’s Marmon Mok University, our in-house professional development program. Edgar Farrera, AIA, LEED AP, taught the course to 12 staff members, finishing the semester with a field trip to Houston to tour LEED certified projects. Marmon Mok is designing the first LEED Silver certified project in the country for the Army-Air Force Exchange Service Shopping Center at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. 2007

Steve Souter Selected for Task Force

Steve Souter, Marmon Mok Managing Partner, has been selected to serve on the San Antonio Greater Chamber of Commerce “Pathway to A Great City” Task Force along with other business executives and civic leaders. The purpose of the group is to make recommendations for cultural venues, parks, transportation, education and other elements that contribute to a great city. 2007
