Stephen Souter Retires After 50 Years with Marmon Mok

Marmon Mok hosted a retirement party at Club Giraud where we honored Partner Stephen Souter, FAIA, who on May 1st celebrates 50 years at Marmon Mok. He has left a lasting impression on the clients, teaming partners, and employees he has worked with over the past five decades, and the respect and admiration we all have for him filled the air. Numerous long-time friends and colleagues traveled from across the country to be here for this momentous celebration. Steve will be missed greatly, but his legacy as an architect and community leader will live on. He will spend his free days with his beautiful wife Jill traveling the globe and visiting friends and family across the country. CONGRATULATIONS STEVE!

Frost Tower San Antonio Opens

As Interior Architect, Marmon Mok designed the interior finish out for 15 floors of the new Frost Tower to be occupied by Frost Bank. All floors contain curated art collections and custom furniture made from live oaks that were harvested from the property. A contemporary design aesthetic is applied throughout each floor, with a focus on integration of modern technology and full utilization of the abundant natural light. Marmon Mok's New Home

Today, more so than ever, the design and layout of a workplace play a significant role in the way a business operates. Technology and mobility require flexible, multipurpose spaces centered on employee health and happiness. With this notion at the forefront, Marmon Mok is moving to the Oak Park Building beginning June 10th.

“It’s been great to practice what we preach to our clients and help create an effective space for our team,” says Partner and Architect, Mary Bartlett. “We conducted a visioning session with our team and, from everyone’s feedback, created a space that provides a variety of work environments that allows for group collaboration as well as individual focused work.”

Having designed large, progressive office environments for projects like the Frost Tower Headquarters, One Frost Westover Hills Campus, Texas Organ Sharing Alliance, Bexar County Public Works Building, and TxDOT Consolidation Campus, Marmon Mok’s new space is designed with the same energy and workplace philosophy to better accommodate our expanding and collaborative practice. Abundant natural light and views, varied multifunctional spaces, a collaborative break/work zone, and contemporary work stations for all employees are key elements of our workplace.
